PHYLLIS JONES
Why did you decide to join the CASE committee?
In the hope of understanding "WHY?" and to try and learn to be more alert, having lost close friends to suicide.
Why is a committee like CASE so important?
To make the public more aware. To be able to look for signs and help someone, everyone, in need.
What role do you play in the committee? Are you a point of contact for those at risk?
Minor, due to work and other commitments at present.
How significant do you think it is to be able to ‘help a mate out’ and create suicide awareness in the community?
Very significant indeed.
What have you gained from your involvement so far?
I am not looking for gain for myself; I would like to think I am here at all times to assist in any way possible, to listen, to learn, to comfort - to somehow get a message across to let everyone know how important they really are.
